Who I am
Thirty years of figure skating experience in the amateur and professional circuit
Ten years of coaching experience.
My coaching techniques are based on the Principles of Biomechanics and the Laws of Physics i.e. to follow the course of natural movement to reach the expected result.
I emphasize technical perfection in the performance of field move exercises, spins and jumps.
I am constantly adjusting my coaching methods based on observation, current trends and competition demands.
Creativity is an important factor in the process of coaching. Every couple of months I change field move exercises to keep lessons captivating and interesting. In this regard I am constantly challenging my skaters to move to the next level of difficulty.
Choreography: Once a skater has acquired sufficient skills, the process of choreographing a routine to music can begin. With the right music and choreography the enjoyment of gliding on the ice begins to unfold.
Personal involvement and interest in coaching at all levels. Coaching all levels of skating creates a wide basis of knowledge; a sort of database that can be used in sharing knowledge and problem solving while coaching competitive skaters
Collaboration with different coaches in planning, consulting and executing creates an exceptional high standard of coaching
