Amateur Career

First Steps 1977 Age 3: took first steps on ice on the streets of my birth city Miercurea-Ciuc, Romania. Perfected my skills on the tennis court across our street, which became an ice rink in the winter when the temperature could drop to 30 degrees. 1979-1984 First real breakthrough when my mother took me to the local skating rink. I was immediately selected for the competition team. Coach: Loffler Bogyo Maria

Romanian Olympic Team 1984-1992 Member of the Romanian Olympic Team 1984-1990 Twice Junior National Champion Winner of several national and international competitions or finishing on the podium. Mentor & Coach: Munteanu Cornel who taught me the real essence of skating with his dedication and special interest in biomechanics and anatomical movement. 1991 Met the inspirational coaching couple Tanase Anca and Radulescu Adrian who empowered me to continue my skating career.

Hungarian National Team 1993-1994 2nd at the "Karl Schaffer" Memorial Wiener. 1st in the "Hungarian trophy" - Budapest. 2nd at the "Ondrej Nepela" cup - Bratislava. 2nd at the "Finland trophy" - Helsinki. 13th at the European Championships Copenhagen. 15th at the World Championships - Japan. Coaches: Czako couple - The most successful coaching couple at the time. 1984-1990 Best years of my amateur skating career. 2nd at the "Karl Schaffer cup" Wiena. 1st at the "Ondrej Nepela cup" Bratislava. 1st at the "Golden Spin" Zagreb. 6th at the Skate Canada. 5th at the French trophy. Twice Hungarian National Champion. 5th at the Winter Universiade Games Jaca. 10th at the World Championships, Birmingham - England. Coach: Laszlo Vajda.
